Donors and Partners
Rainbow Refugee receives grant-based funding from a range of supportive organizations and institutions. While we are grateful for these essential contributions, we do not have long-term or fully operational funding partnerships at this time.
These time-limited grants help us deliver specific programs, respond to urgent needs, and sustain community-based advocacy for LGBTQIA+ refugees and newcomers.
Recent and ongoing funders include:
• Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) – through the Rainbow Refugee Assistance Partnership (RRAP)
• City of Vancouver
• Foundation of Hope
• Vancity Credit Union
• Canadian Red Cross
• YVR Airport
• Private and community donors, including monthly supporters and LGBTQIA+ allies across Canada and beyond
Your contributions — financial, in-kind, and in spirit — make this work possible. Thank you.
Rainbow Refugee collaborates with a wide network of organizations across Canada. These partnerships help us strengthen sponsorship efforts, expand support services, and advocate for justice and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ displaced people.

At this time, Rainbow Refugee does not maintain formal partnerships with organizations outside of Canada. Our current capacity and mandate are focused on partnerships within Canada, where we collaborate with sponsors, service providers, and advocacy groups to support LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking refugee protection.
While we value global solidarity and recognize the importance of international collaboration, we are not able to engage in formal partnerships with organizations outside Canada at this time.
If you are an LGBTQIA+ organization based outside of Canada seeking to support displaced individuals, we encourage you to connect with Rainbow Railroad, which may have the ability and infrastructure to partner internationally. Rainbow Railroad offers emergency assistance, case support, and relocation services for LGBTQIA+ individuals worldwide.
At Rainbow Refugee, our work is built on a legacy of grassroots activism and strengthened by a national network of supporters. We continue to protect and uplift LGBTQIA+ individuals fleeing persecution by creating pathways to safety, community, and long-term belonging.
